报告人简介：Dr Yalin Zheng (郑亚林) is an associate professor (senior lecturer) at the Department of Eye and Vision Science, University of Liverpool, UK. He has nearly 20-year research experience in image processing, computer vision, and medical image analysis in both industry and academia. His research group is focusing on developing new imaging technologies for improving healthcare provision with a focus on eye disease. He has over 100 publications published in high impact international journals (e.g. IEEE TMI, Ophthalmology, and Nature: Scientific Report) and top international conferences. He serves as an Associate Editor of BMJ Open Ophthalmology and an Editorial Board Member of Nature: Scientific Reports.
报告内容简介: The most important organs of sense are our eyes. The eyes are the windows to the soul. Nearly 300 million people are estimated to be visually impaired worldwide of which 40 million are blind. Analogous to ultrasound, optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an indispensable non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique in the management of eye disease. In this talk, I will give an overview of eye disease and blindness, describe the principle of OCT, introduce our recent innovative work in the development of OCT devices in Liverpool, and present our recent work in the development of new image analysis techniques (segmentation, classification) for OCT images.
